Summary

Amends the

Income Tax Assessment Act 1997
to require that, in order to receive exemption from income tax, the aims and activities of religious and charitable institutions must be assessed against a public benefit test.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
